Four transition metal-containing polyoxometalates (Cu-POM, Co-POM, Mn-POM and Zn-POM) were isolated by the self-assembly of {P₂W₁₅Nb₃O₆₂} and transition metal ions (Cu²⁺, Co²⁺, Mn²⁺ and Zn²⁺) in water-ethanol mixed solvent under solvothermal condition. They are all composed of three {P₂W₁₅Nb₃} units and four [M(H₂O)_x]²⁺ groups. These compounds, especially Cu-POM, can serve as efficient heterogeneous catalysts for the cyanosilylation of different carbonyl compounds.
